Fishing Brush for Summer Bass at Lake Elkhorn, MD

Location: Lake Elkhorn, Columbia, MD
Date: 7/26/16
Time Fished: 4pm-7pm
Weather: Partly cloudy, temperature in the low 90s
Target Species: Largemouth Bass
Strategy: Fishing around brush. The temperature in central MD has been in the 90s for the past week or so, so the water temperature is very warm. Because of that, the fish are holding tight to cover and brush was the easiest cover to fish around. All of the fish caught in this video were caught near trees in the water. Lake Elkhorn has a ton of thick grass in it which probably also hold fish, but I didn’t have the right setup for thick grass. Lake Elkhorn also has a few docks which could’ve been fished and probably held fish.
Lures Used: Texas Rigged 6″ BPS Tournament Series Squirmin Worm (Black Firetail), Wacky Rigged 5″ Yamamoto Senko (Green Pumpkin Black Flake), and 2.5″ Berkley Gulp Minnow (Smelt) on a 1/8th oz jig head
